Troubleshooting
Steps to troubleshoot
- No Jira Software project: Make sure, that you installed the app on a Jira Software instance. (Jira Core and Service Desk instances does not have the Epic Issue Type.)
- No epic issue type: If your project doesn't have an epic issue type, the Roadmap won't work properly.
- Epic issue is listed but no bar present on the timeline:Â
- Make sure the start date is set earlier than the due date.Â
- Make sure the set dates are no earlier than the previous year and no later than the year after the next year.
- Date field errors when using the timeline: On the Roadmap Settings in the Project configuration, select the Jira custom fields that you want to use as the start date and end date for Epic bars. Make sure these fields are added to the Create/View/Edit Epic Issue screen.
- Field 'customfield_#####' cannot be set. It is not on the appropriate screen, or unknown:
- Identify the custom field based on its ID: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-find-id-for-custom-field-s-744522503.html
- Make sure these fields are added to the Create/View/Edit Epic Issue screen.
- Make sure that the configured fields are:
- Date picker type (and not Date Time picker type)
- Exist (not deleted)
- Fields are not present in the Epic details view:Â Make sure that the listed fields are visible (not hidden) in the project's Field Configuration.
Clearing local storage
In case you upgraded from version 2.3.0 to a newer one, some users may experience an error when opening a roadmap. This can be due to some outdated keys stored in the browser's local storage. In this case please do the following:
- Open epic roadmap in normal browser (not private mode)
- Press F12
- Navigate to the Applications Menu ->Local Storage (just as in the screenshot
- Delete the Marked everit keys.
