Sometimes you need to change the formula or the default value of the Issue Score field and update the current score fields. This will result invalid score values in the Jira index.

This means, you need to trigger an "Issue Edit Event" on the regarding issues and/or fields to make Issue Score field recalculates its value and Jira indexes that issue. You can do this manually (but it takes a lot of time if you have many Issues), or you can bulk change the value of one of the field in the formula.

Issue Score also gives you a tool to trigger this event on every Issue involved without really changing anything on them.

  1. Perform a search with the required filters to produce a list of issues with Issue Score field.
  2. Select Tools > Bulk Change.
  3. Select the issues you'd like to perform the bulk operation on, and select Next.
  4. Select Edit Issues, and select Next.
  5. Select "Change Issue Score" from the bulk edit operation list.

  6. Decide whether you'd like to send email notifications. Select Next.
  7. Review your bulk operation, and select Confirm when you are happy with the operation.

(info) We recommend to re-index Jira after the bulk operation.

(warning) The case described above also exists when a Key-Value field option is changed, for example, one of the options is deleted. Perform the Bulk Change for the related Issues to update your Key-Value and related Score fields.
